We are currently seeking a Fitter Machinist Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery. The Fitter Machinist Intern will work under the supervision of experienced Engineers and will receive on-the-job training to develop their skills and knowledge.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery.
- Learn to use hand and power tools to complete tasks such as drilling, tapping, grinding, and cutting.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to assemble machinery and mechanical components.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment as directed.
- Assist in the identification and troubleshooting of mechanical issues and defects.
- Learn to operate machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
Essential Skills:
- Able to interpret technical drawings and blueprints to create or repair machinery and equipment accurately.
- Should be familiar with a range of hand and power tools, such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and saws.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing equipment and tools is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and technical drawings accurately.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
